The Problematic Week 5

September 02, 2011

The big story in week 5 was not the great Wii Bowling and Wii Bowlers but the great coaches we have.  They had to endure a computer glitch which made posting scores a nightmare.  Under the leadership of Mr. Zach Phillips, our IT guro, we hope we have the problems worked out and we can move to a stress free week 6 and week 7 leading to the playoffs.

Week 6 and week 7 are going to be challenging to coaches, players and the NSL staff.  WEEK 6 REQUIRES 2 MATCHES WITH SCORES FOR WEEK 6 MATCHES POSTED BY THE END OF TUES., SEPT 6 AND SCORES FOR WEEK 7 POSTED BEFORE THE END OF FRI, SEPT 9.

NSL week 5 shoutouts to Bob Bigham and Evelyn Kelly for Wii Bowling 2 perfect games giving Bigham 4 in a row; to Grover Kelly (joining the NSL 300 Club); to Edith Kellog for her 599 total; to Jack Lucas’ big games (Stryke Force), Roberta Hudson’s 299 and Rachel Padgett’s (a pair of 289’s); to big numbers posted by the UnbeWiiVables, the SAS Strikers and The Active Life teams from LaGrange, Ga; and to the Abbey Inmates for their highest series of the year.  BUT THE LOUDEST NSL SHOUTOUT GOES TO THE COACHES.  Happy Wii Bowling over the next 10 days as we head to the playoffs.

WEEK 4

August 26, 2011

We’re over the hump and into the final 3 weeks.  Teams on the move include Bernie Katz’s, Alley Oops, Sy Weinberg’s, Abbey Inmates, the Screamin Wii Mii’s, Methuen Village and Capitol Retirement Village 1 led by Wii Bowlers Marty Manker and Shirley McBride.

It was a big week for Terry Alburger’s, Perfect Pinbusters, led by Doris Mager’s 300 challenged but could not get over the hump against the powerful UnbeWiiValbles.  It was a big week for Edith Kellog, Sunshine Strikers 1, as she joined the NSL 300 Club for the first time and a big day for Donnie Jordan, Margaret Kinnard and Bob Brigham, all Wii rolling a 600 series.

It was a good week for the Pin Polishers who defeated The Powerballs in a close match; for the Dawson Rollers defeating a very tough Striking Seniors 1 team; and for the Magic Strikers (Magnolia Ridge) who defeated the Pin Mii’s (Cosby Highrise).

Other good efforts included Vern Larson and Ruth Ray (Gutterballs) who topped the 200 mark for the first time and the Cerrito Falcons who used a balanced attack to climb in the league standings.
